Hoedspruit Town
Hoedspruit Town
The town is one of the most frequented by international visitors in the Lowveld; up to 720 000 international visitors annually. Hoedspruit caters for all needs possible, from open vehicle safaris, balloon flights, river adventures to helicopter flights.
Authentic safari experiences are few and Hoedspruit still provides that. I met with some German Tour Operators a few weeks ago and they confirm this statement. Driving around Hoedspruit you will come across quite a few safari vehicles driving around, people in safari gear, anti-poaching units patrolling the area and some animals on the roads.
Accessibility to Hoedspruit is via road and air. It is about 450km from the OR Tambo International Airport and the airlines flying to Hoedspruit are Airlink and CemAir. There are various private charters to Hoedspruit and the various major lodges in the Hoedspruit region; of which Federal Airlines is the one most used.
Car Rental is available at the Eastgate Airport and a depo in Hoedspruit Town.
